EITC Tax Credits: How You Can Give More and Pay Less

One of the most impactful ways to support Archbishop Ryan is through the Pennsylvania Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) and Opportunity Scholarship Tax Credit (OSTC) programs. These programs allow you to redirect your PA state taxes into a direct gift to Archbishop Ryan for student financial aid.

How It Works

If you pay a minimum of $5,000 in PA state taxes per year, you may be eligible to participate. Instead of the state deciding how your taxes are distributed, you can direct those funds to Archbishop Ryan to support tuition assistance for students in need.

The Numbers

  • 1-Year Commitment: 75% tax credit on your donation
  • 2-Year Commitment: 90% tax credit — your net out-of-pocket cost on a $10,000 donation could be as low as $630

That means $10,000 goes directly to a student’s tuition, and your actual cost over two years is just $630. It’s one of the most tax-efficient ways to make a meaningful difference.

Our Partner: BLOCS

Friends of Ryan works with Business Leadership Organized for Catholic Schools (BLOCS) to administer the EITC/OSTC program. BLOCS identifies families with the greatest financial need and ensures your contribution reaches the students who need it most.
